If you are still rocking all that quilt math old school style, let me tell you how great it is to have quilt software. It's so helpful!!
My friends over at Threadbias know this to be true too and they are working on their very own Quilt Design Tool as we speak. The have grand plans for this including a subscription service for the design tool that will enable you to design and create quilts while also keeping Threadbias a free and open site.
But they need your help. This grand plan won't happen unless they meet their Kickstarter donation goal by October 31. That leaves only 9 more days for them to reach their goal and they need help. You can make your pledge here and read more about Threadbias' Quilt Design Tool here.
Thanks for checking it out.
In case you didn't hear the BIG NEWS yesterday, I'm hosting a fabulous sewing retreat, right here in Charlotte! Pop over and check out all the Sew South Retreat details and enter to win the fabric giveaway! Tickets go on sale tomorrow!

I love kick starter, I think this is the third or fourth time I've made a pledge. I hope they get to $20k, I'd love a few months of the software subscription!
I pledged last night!
That sounds like fun. I'll have to go check it out. This reminds me to ask, do you or anyone you know ever use the calculators that I see available that help you figure out how many yards of fabric to buy for a quilt? I soo struggle with this when piecing a back. Or are you girls just smarty pants and totally get it with a paper and pencil?
It's all done in my head and by trial and error - I guess it probably shows!
I'm still figuring out how to figure it out! LOL
I use Ole Frog Eyes virtual design wall....it's great!
I use Google sketchup. I love it cause you can design completely by eye & then measure everything afterwards so no maths needed at all!
