A Little Paper Piecing Goodness- would you take an online class?

How are those scraps coming? Don't you love peeking into everyone's scrap storage?
Today's stop on the Scrappy Stash blog hop is Courtney over at Mon Petit Lyons. Pop on over and check out her stash.

I've been working on my tote bag for the Mouthy Stitches Swap Round 2.

Mouthy Stitches 2
There is so much talent in this group that it's staggering. We are all using the same pattern for the tote bag but then get to make a quilted tote in a style our partner would like.
This is what I've come up with for the front of my tote.

Mouthy Stitches Round 2

I have to admit that I kinda love it. I think my partner will too.

I've got a plan for the back but can't share that yet. I'm afraid it will spoil the surprise.

The pattern is called a Kaleidoscope Star, and I'll post a template for it soon.

Now, onto some of those questions from the weekend.

Hadley asked, "What makes you blush." lol well, I'd have to say the trashy steamy romance novels I read make me blush. I read all those 50 Shades and several others like it. Makes me glad I have a Kindle. I would be totally embarrassed if anybody (like my parents- eeekkk!) knew what I was reading.

Mom2Caleigh asked, "Do you live in NC? If so, where? Do you ever offer classes or visit quilt guilds?"
I live in Charlotte, NC which is a wonderful city. It's clean, metropolitan without being too big, is beautiful, has great weather and the people are friendly. I was born here, grew up outside of Charlotte and my family all lives in Charlotte now too.

As for classes, yes I do!  I taught a beginning sewing class this summer and had a ball. I'd love to teach a quilting class as well. I used to teach elementary school so teaching plus sewing- that's totally up my alley!  I've toyed with the idea of an online class too. Wonder if there would be enough interest? Maybe for a Christmas project or some paper piecing?

As for visiting quilt guilds, I'd be honored if someone wanted me to come. :)

Hope y'all are enjoying the Ask Me Anything series. More answers coming soon.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for the Scrappy Stash Quilt-Along Kick Off!!

The BIG prizes will be announced and there will be 5 giveaways tomorrow! You don't want to miss it!

xo,
Jennifer

Love your star Jen! I loved 50 shades too! I was happy to have my kindle also.

I love the idea of an online class. Christmas paper piecing sounds awesome!

I second Laura's question! I'm in Houston and will be at the Quilt Festival. :)

I often wonder how online classes work. Is it a video? A live streaming thing? I think I'd be interested.

Ooh, your tote is amazing! What a lucky partner you have:). And I could totally see you doing online classes and speaking at guilds. It's fun watching the opportunities unfold, isn't it?!

I would love to take an online class for paper piecing!

I've been wanting to learn, and I'm sure I can try it on my own, but a class is so much more fun. :D

I would definitely take a class on paper piecing if you taught me how to make my own paper pieced patterns or how to transform an image/drawing into a paper pieced pattern.

An online class is something I have considered in the past. There are some interesting offerings from Craftsy, but so far haven't taken the plunge. I worry about finding the time to really stick with it.

Love that Kaleidoscope Star!

Online class would be great! I have taken classes at Quilt university & Craftsy. Both work well. And Christmas is always a good theme
