FAB! Giveaway Day: Two very cool sewing tools!
Today's another FAB! review & giveaway day, and I'm excited to share these very clever products from Sew Very Smooth.
Now, I recently got a Sew Smooth table which I'm jazzed about. I sew on my dining room table and the Sew Smooth table is a great extension table that gives me a lot of room to maneuver when quilting. But I have to say, fabric doesn't slide on it quite as easily as I'd hoped. Luckily, I met LuAnn and Steve Tippets at their booth at the Charlotte Quilter's show a few weeks ago.
They run the Sew Very Smooth business and were kind enough to send me some of their great products to try. See, they sell these little wonder pots of polish that totally impressed me. Simply wipe the polish cream on the extension table and the bed of the sewing machine, buff off, and wha-la! The surface is super smooth and slick and fabric slips and slides along the surface like satin. Trust me, it makes a BIG difference!
The other nifty little gadget Steve and LuAnn showed me was their new seam guide. Now, this I love.
I used to put a piece of masking tape on my machine bed to mark different seam allowances (like a half inch) when sewing but we all know that's not great. It's too thin and doesn't keep the fabric in line. It's way too easy to get off track. Apparently other people have this issue too so they came up with this super smart seam guide.
It sticks tightly on to your Sew Steady table but is completely removable and repositionable. Simply press on one end and it pops up, ready for you to move it. Now, you can place your fabric right up against the guide and your seams will be perfect.
This is a big help for me. I am used to sewing with a quarter inch foot on my machine that has the little wall on the right so it keeps me in check and essentially, the seam guide does the same thing. I love it. Although this was made to use on an extension table, I am sure you could use one on a drop-in sewing table too.
I think both of these products are FAB! which is why I am excited to be giving away 3 sets of polish and seam guides today! Yay!
A big thanks to Steve and LuAnn for sharing their fabulous products with me and with y'all! It's fun when you find a great product that delivers and I have to say, these get gold stars.
So, what to do to enter to win? Simply fill out the Rafflecopter info below. International entries welcome! The winner will be announced on the 21st.
Good luck!

I have used a vinyl thing you stick to your extension table (of course I can't remember the name right now) and that worked pretty well, but the polish sounds great! Would love to try it!!
I think they look great! I have tried the masking tape and it is sadly lacking. The special seam allowance attachment looks like a fab alternative!

I really like the seam guide! I'm a total airhead when it comes to anything that requires anything other than a 1/4" seam allowance!
The seam guide looks like a wonder tool. I have a really hard time following the line on my machine.
Thanks for the chance & hope you have a great Tuesday!
Very cool. I wonder if that balm will help when sewing with laminates? I have a hard time moving them through my machine. It would certainly be great for free motion quilting!
I'm also of the masking tape gang, so this new tool would be soooo helpful! Thanks so much for the chance to win!! Love your blog.

The seam allowance guide looks awesome. My rubber band guide just isn't cutting it anymore!
love it! I always need help with my seam allowance!
Really love the look of both of these products! They are both things I have problems with every time...
I think those tools are awesome.. the seam guide would be super useful especially because my sewing machine has the guides in metric and I'm mostly using imperial at the moment!
Products look awesome... I defin. want to try them.

The seam guide looks great and would replace the tape I now use. Kathie L in Allentown
i don't have any special sewing tools like these.. it would be nice to have one to make sewing easier! :D i am dreaming of a rotary cutter :D hah!
Great tools! I would like to try them out. Most interesting is the seam guide.
These tools would help me out a lot! Thanks for the opportunity to win this awesomeness!!
Wow those are both great tools to have count me in the drawing please.
Wow those are both great tools to have count me in the drawing please.
I need something like that seam guide. I"m sewing on my backup machine right now and I don't have a 1/4" foot for it!!
Wow, two totally unique products! Fun. :)

These products look great! I could always use some help with my seam allowance.
My fav tool would be a seam guide! Pick me, pick me! LOL I really need help on my quarter inch seams! Thanks for the chance to win!
Cool tools. I did not know there was something you could rub on your table. I'm assuming it does not leave any traces of it on your fabric. Awesome giveaway!
My favorite tool is my rotatory cutter.
That product is great. Thanks for the chance to win!!
Either would be awesome, but I'm kinda geeking on the seam guide!
I NEED one of those sets!!! Oh my - that seam guide - I am terrible at sewing a straight line, that guide would be totally awesome!!!!! Yay!!!!

msstitcher1214@yahoo.com
I've been taping an index card on my machine as a seam guide...so a real one would be great!
Great tools! I love the seam guide!
The seam guide looks awesome! I would love to give that a try.
I think the seam guide would a real benefit. The polish, I would have to try out. Thanks for the chance to try them both!
I really like the seam guide! Thanks for a chance to win!
What a great giveaway! I just tried the tape thing the other day, it didn't really work out so well...
Those are some really great innovative products! Thanks for sharing! I couldn't live without my ruler and rotary cutter, and of course, my seam ripper!
I'd like to try that polish. Been wanting something like that for a long time. Thanks, Jennifer!
Very interesting tools! Couldn't say wich would be my favorite, since the are so different!
Thank you to Steve and LuAnn for sharing! And thank you Jennifer (o:
I'd love to try the polish. Anything to make FMQ easier has my vote.
I am one of the users of the multiple layers of painters tape. This looks like it would be so much better and easier. Thanks for the giveaway.
lsandes@comcast.net
the side guide would be great to get!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Ugh - the masking tape trick! Made that mistake once, so of course I think the seam guide is perfection.
I use my 1/4" foot for quilting, but a seam guide would be so nice for other allowances when sewing clothing and so many other projects!
That seam guide looks great! I'm curious to learn more about the polish - does it leave any residue on the table or the fabric?
How to decide which one looks best, they both look fantastic. I would say the cream is something I should try, as my quilting is not up to par yet.
I use a built up block of masking tape and I'm sure the guide would be so much more accurate!! Thanks for a great giveaway!
My new favourite tool is a quarter inch foot with an edge. Thanks for the giveaway!
Interesting, I would love to try the seam guide AND the polish.
I lurve my quarter inch foot, so a repositionable seam guide would be really fun to try! Thanks for the chance to win! :)
I think they look awesome. I am curious to find out if the polish helps when working on laminated fabric, too.
My gosh, I need that seam guide! I'm terrible at creating perfect seams! christina112358 at gmail dot com
sounds amazing! both products look great... i would love to try some of that polish, it sounds so helpful for fmq!
Well, I guess the seam allowance guide is just screaming "Buy me! Buy me!" This will help out so much since it's way longer than all other seam guides I have used before. Great for straight seams!
These look like great products ,especially love the idea of the seam allowance ruler , thanks for the chance.
I already have a Sew Steady table, and I love it. I would love to try the polish and the seam guide. too.
Just what I need! I'll keep my fingers crossed.
wow these are very cool. someday i will get an extension table. but that ruler would be super handy. thanks for the opportunity.

I have just recently figured out that when I run the fabric along the bar on the side of my 1/4" foot, it's not really 1/4". No wonder my blocks are all wonky! This seam guide would come in really handy since I've never been able to get a consistent 1/4" by eyeballing it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that uses masking tape as my guide! (But in my defense - it was on my rag quilts with 1" seam allowances that don't have to be all that precise!)
:)
~Julie
I am in DESPARATE need of the seam guide!!! Would save so much frustration!! Thanks so much for the chance to win :)
This looks pretty cool! I've done the rubber band trick.
Those tools are so neat!
I could use both of them. Thanks for the Give Away!
I would love to try the polish, and who can't use a seem guide? Thanks Jennifer.
What perfect timing! I just posted on my blog today about the frustration I was having sewing with minky and it not sliding around as easily when I was trying to free motion quilt it! Thanks for the opportunity to win such a great giveaway!!! :)
I think the seam guide would be great. I just have the stick-on guide but it is completely flat so there is no edge to help guide the fabric. I want one of these!!! Thanks for the chance to win!
I'm not seeing the "rafflecopter" here ?? ... can I still comment and enter ??
Both of these notions look great, would love to win either! Thanks for the chance to win!
Ahh man, they look super awesome and helpful. I also have the 1/4" seam guide foot and it's a life saver. That seam guide looks amazing!
These both look like great items!! Thanks for the fab giveaway :)
Oh wow, what neat items that make life simpler while quilting/sewing.
Thanks for a chance.
Both of these are news to me! Thanks for alerting the world about them. I would certainly use them both and if I'm not the lucky winner, I'll be looking to pick them up somewhere.
Both of these products sound fantastic! Thanks
I would really love to have a seam guide like that and maybe even that polish would be useful, even though I only have a small table attachment that came with my sewing machine it would probably still work...I hope!
I'd love some kind of table attachment for my machine. This looks like a great one! Thanks for the chance to win.
Oh I could totally have used that polish this week, I've literally been wrestling a flannel backed quilt through my machine :o/
What great gadgets!!! Thanks for the chance to win and try them!!!
~Terry~
My 1/4" seam allowance really needs help. Thanks so much for a chance.
Thanks for the great giveaway. Both products sound amazing.
I haven't heard of either of these products before but they sound great. Thanks for the chance.
Sounds like a winner, or 2!
I have a Sew Steady table I use with my Viking Sapphire 870Q. I really love it, but it would be great to have a way to make it more slippery for FMQ.
That is brilliant!! I hope I win. :)
This looks very intriguing. I would love to try it out.
I have been wanting the table and my friend is got it for me. Now if I had this polish it would be perfect. A seam guide is a must when I sew.
I agree that tape isn't the best solution. The seam guide looks to be the answer! I would like to win these items!
creativeforays@gmail.com
I would like to give them a try.

Both products look like they would be very helpful. I would love to give them a try.
I hate making the seams.
Perhaps it will be more fun with this tool?
Greetings,
Tina
Great products. Its wonderful to see some useful items that one can use all the time while sewing. I do have trouble quilting my bigger quilts because of lack of slideability. Here is the answer.
I need a sewing table like that, so cool!
The seam guide is exactly what I need! My sewing machine no longer sews a 1/4" seam & tape is just not working well (used to sewing faster...). I already checked out their website -- thanks!
These look great! I would love to try them. Thanks for the opportunity!
I think they are both pretty nifty.
The wax seems like a really great idea. thanks for a chance.
These sounds great, I love the seam guide, I use marking tape too!
These products sound fabulous. The seam guide would be a big help!
That seam guide is excellent! I have a hard time when trying to do a 1/4"SA with my walking foot and I'm thinking that would solve the problem! Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this Jennifer, they sound like great products!
I've tried using wax but this might work even better. I also like the way the seam guide works. I would live to try them both.
This seam guide looks great!! my machine is very tricky to get lined up just right for accurate seam allowance so this would definitely go to great use.
These look great.... I would love an extension table like that and that guide looks awesome!
I use a block of Post-it notes. The sticky on the bottom one holds the block in place, and it's high enough to stop the fabric escaping. This is fancier ;)
I sure could use this prize package. I've used tape and cardboard for a guide for years .
Thanks for all you do.
Debbie
Always looking for something to make my sewing life easier!
the seam guide looks wonderful!!
How wonderful this would be. I have tried tons of polish just to get my fabric to slide perfectly and it really does not work and then you have to wait for it to dry....would love to try some of this....and the ruler well I cannot sew for 3 inches without trying to put some kind of edge on my throat plate so yeah if you recommend them then I feel that is good enough for me....
The seam guide looks handy.
I think the ruler is a great idea. I am always using tape to mark things, but that gets to be a pain.
The seam guide looks like something that would really help me.
What a great idea! I also use the masking tape for a seam guide, but it doesn't work very well! Going to check out their website for the table also! Thanks for the great tip!
What a great giveaway! I have the Sew Steady table that I just bought with a new machine, so this would be an amazing bonus. Thanks for the opportunity.
hmmm, the polish seems like a good idea and the seam guide and even better one! would like to win a set and try them out. thanx for the opportunity to do so.
I would love one of those seam guides. I've been using the stick on measuring tape, and it won't stay on.
That seam guide is awesome!!
I love my purple "thang"
These look like great products. Thanks for sharing.
There are so many great tools to make quilting easier and allow us to focus on creativity and technique. These two sound like they definitely fall into that category.
These are such useful products. Thanks for sharing.
The seam guide sounds very useful. Thank you for the reviews.
Happy days.
Bev.xoxo
The guide makes me swoon, I have such trouble with 1/4 inch seams.
That seam guide looks great and judging by a few of my efforts lately, something I could do with ;-)
that polish sounds great. Would love to pimp up my table :)
Susanne
Would love to win...thanks for the giveaway!
These products seems so interesting. I would love to be able to try them out, especially the polish.
Love the seam guide.....teaching a friend to sew and she could really use it!
Love the polish idea. I have an extension table for my sewing machine and have some trouble with the fabric not sliding as smoothly as I would like for it to.
I want the seam guide ruler badly. I love my 1/4 foot but I broke the 1/4 guide off of it, I still use it and follow the edge and it works but kinda ghetto. I love my seam ripper too, lol.
I would love to win both of these products. My sewing machine is on top of an old computer desk and I don't have an extension for my machine yet. Thanks for the great giveaway.
There are so many cool tools out there!
The seam allowance guide sound fabulous! And the polish sounds great too. :)
They both sound like great products. I could totally use the seam guide... :) Would make my quilting much easier!
The polish sounds great and with a newbie daughter coming along the seam guide sounds very handy.
Thanks for the chance to win
Very cool product!
would love to win
Anything that will help me quilt would be great...he he he, Thanks for the chance to win.
I love the seam guide! Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I would love to win the seam guide.
Wow-never heard of the polish but I'm very intrigued! Anything to help move those big qlts across the table would be awesome! Thanks for the tip!
So great! I'm also sewing on my back up machine and don't have a quarter inch foot...that seam guide looks great!
Thanks for the chance.
lwghosts at yahoo dot com
I love these contests!
I think the ruler would be very handy, and the smoothing agent might be as well, although I already seem to have issues with my table being smooth enough for my quilt to slide off. lol
the seam ruler looks great and I'd love an extension table for my machine! thanks for the giveaway!
My biggest problem is keeping my seams allowance straight! love the ruler. :)
I'm always up for a new tool. These look good.
The seam allowance guide looks great! I had never heard of the polish. Great giveaway! Thanks
for the chance to win!
wigglypup2@yahoo.com
I would love to try the seam guide. Looks like a great idea
My favorite tool set is the rotary cutter with mat and grid ruler. Anything that helps me (and my mother) sew a straight accurate seam is well worth trying. Please include us in the giveaway.
Also, rafflecopter doesn't load and work. It just sits there and doesn't even spin. Had some troubles last time too.
The Sew Very Smooth looks like a great product! My 3 year old daughter likes to sit at my sewing table and watch Netflix on the computer which usually means smudges and sticky stuff on the sewing table. After I clean it the fabric doesn't seem to want to glide very easily. I could definitely use something like this!
I totally need that seam guide! Thanks for the giveaway!
my favourite tool is the rotary cutter besides the cutting mat and grid ruler. thanks...
I love my ruby glass! Thanks for the chance to win, great prizes!
I think they look great! Thanks for the giveaway!
Seam allowance guide looks fantastic! I have not heard of that polish, looks interesting. Great giveaway! Thanks
Hugs
I think the seam guide is terrific! Thanks for the giveaway!
I love my quarter-inch foot and often wish I could adjust it. This seam guide looks promising! Thanks for the chance :)
This looks awesome! I would love to try it. Thanks for the chance! :)
