FAB! Giveaway Day: Two very cool sewing tools!

Today's another FAB! review & giveaway day, and I'm excited to share these very clever products from Sew Very Smooth.

Now, I recently got a Sew Smooth table which I'm jazzed about. I sew on my dining room table and the Sew Smooth table is a great extension table that gives me a lot of room to maneuver when quilting.   But I have to say, fabric doesn't slide on it quite as easily as I'd hoped. Luckily, I met LuAnn and Steve Tippets at their booth at the Charlotte Quilter's show a few weeks ago.

They run the Sew Very Smooth business and were kind enough to send me some of their great products to try.  See, they sell these little wonder pots of polish that totally impressed me. Simply wipe the polish cream on the extension table and the bed of the sewing machine, buff off, and wha-la! The surface is super smooth and slick and fabric slips and slides along the surface like satin.  Trust me, it makes a BIG difference!

The other nifty little gadget Steve and LuAnn showed me was their new seam guide. Now, this I love.

I used to put a piece of masking tape on my machine bed to mark different seam allowances (like a half inch) when sewing but we all know that's not great.  It's too thin and doesn't keep the fabric in line. It's way too easy to get off track.  Apparently other people have this issue too so they came up with this super smart seam guide.

It sticks tightly on to your Sew Steady table but is completely removable and repositionable.  Simply press on one end and it pops up, ready for you to move it. Now, you can place your fabric right up against the guide and your seams will be perfect.

This is a big help for me. I am used to sewing with a quarter inch foot on my machine that has the little wall on the right so it keeps me in check and essentially, the seam guide does the same thing. I love it.  Although this was made to use on an extension table, I am sure you could use one on a drop-in sewing table too.

I think both of these products are FAB! which is why I am excited to be giving away 3 sets of polish and seam guides today! Yay!

A big thanks to Steve and LuAnn for sharing their fabulous products with me and with y'all! It's fun when you find a great product that delivers and I have to say, these get gold stars.

So, what to do to enter to win? Simply fill out the Rafflecopter info below. International entries welcome! The winner will be announced on the 21st.
Good luck!

I use my 1/4" foot for quilting, but a seam guide would be so nice for other allowances when sewing clothing and so many other projects!

AJ said...

That seam guide looks great! I'm curious to learn more about the polish - does it leave any residue on the table or the fabric?

HLB123 said...

How to decide which one looks best, they both look fantastic. I would say the cream is something I should try, as my quilting is not up to par yet.

I have just recently figured out that when I run the fabric along the bar on the side of my 1/4" foot, it's not really 1/4". No wonder my blocks are all wonky! This seam guide would come in really handy since I've never been able to get a consistent 1/4" by eyeballing it.

Julie said...

I'm glad I'm not the only one that uses masking tape as my guide! (But in my defense - it was on my rag quilts with 1" seam allowances that don't have to be all that precise!)
:)

I think the seam guide would be great. I just have the stick-on guide but it is completely flat so there is no edge to help guide the fabric. I want one of these!!! Thanks for the chance to win!

Melissa said...

These look great.... I would love an extension table like that and that guide looks awesome!

Taisia @ Piecing Light said...

I use a block of Post-it notes. The sticky on the bottom one holds the block in place, and it's high enough to stop the fabric escaping. This is fancier ;)

Debbie said...

I sure could use this prize package. I've used tape and cardboard for a guide for years .

Thanks for all you do.

Andrea said...

the seam guide looks wonderful!!

Sharon said...

How wonderful this would be. I have tried tons of polish just to get my fabric to slide perfectly and it really does not work and then you have to wait for it to dry....would love to try some of this....and the ruler well I cannot sew for 3 inches without trying to put some kind of edge on my throat plate so yeah if you recommend them then I feel that is good enough for me....

Melissa said...

The seam guide looks handy.

CaroleM said...

I think the ruler is a great idea. I am always using tape to mark things, but that gets to be a pain.

Sharon said...

The seam guide looks like something that would really help me.

My favorite tool set is the rotary cutter with mat and grid ruler. Anything that helps me (and my mother) sew a straight accurate seam is well worth trying. Please include us in the giveaway.
Also, rafflecopter doesn't load and work. It just sits there and doesn't even spin. Had some troubles last time too.

The Sew Very Smooth looks like a great product! My 3 year old daughter likes to sit at my sewing table and watch Netflix on the computer which usually means smudges and sticky stuff on the sewing table.
