Craftsy BOM and a GIVEAWAY!

So my fabulously talented and wonderful friend Amy Gibson of Stitchery Dickory Dock has this great gig over at Craftsy.
She's the mastermind behind their free Block-of-the-Month series.  She does these wonderful video tutorials each month for a sampler quilt that will have you stitching like a pro.

If you are like me, you learn better when someone shows you a new technique which is why this series is a great idea. You get to watch Amy make all the blocks and learn from her.

Her designs are modern and fresh and utilize lots of different techniques. You definitely need to check things out!

Amy's had a great blog hop to help spread the word for her BOM series and you can check out all the posts and giveaways here:

Feb 24 - Miss Print
Feb 25 - Hoosier Toni
Feb 27 - Fresh Lemons
Feb 28 - Qubee Quilts
Mar 2  - mon petit lyons
Mar 3  - Mel's Own Place
Mar 7  - Sew Paint Create
Mar 9  - SoChick
Mar 14- Ellison Lane

The  Block-of-the-Month series features 2 new block lessons per month (20 blocks total).  The last 2 months will cover layout, sashing/borders, basting, quilting, and binding- encouraging students to finish their quilts. There are THOUSANDS of quilters all over the world participating. Isn't the online quilting world cool?

There's a very lively discussion forum (3000 threads) where students can ask questions, and receive answers from both Amy and other students.  Most of the students post photos of their finished blocks, or fabric choices in the gallery or their discussion thread- very similar style to a Flickr group.

I personally love Amy's slashed blocks- what a great way to start off the series!

You can jump in at any time and get started yourself.

The Fat Quarter Shop has graciously offered a $25 giveaway for each stop on the Craftsy BOM Blog Hop-just for checking out things over at Craftsy!

To enter to win the giveaway, check out the fun at the Craftsy BOM series and then come back and leave a comment letting me know what you think.

For an extra chance, become a follower of Ellison Lane Quilts. (For those of you already a follower, please leave me an extra comment letting me know that too.)

Be sure to leave your email address in your comment if you are a no-reply blogger! If I can't get in touch with you, you cannot win.

Good luck and have fun checking out the Craftsy Block-of-the-Month!

xo,
Jennifer

Craftsy is great. I joined Amy's BOM and love how she presents everything. I have my fabric but HAVE to get started putting things together.

Craftsy offers great courses and I've purchased several of them and have not been disappointed. They also have workshops and now have patterns available from lots of people.

GO Craftsy!

some of the blocks are so different from one another it will be interesting to see them in the finished quilt.
