Y'all are the best. I knew asking you about hexies would be a great idea.
Thank you for all of the great advice, tips and links to get started!
The kindness and eagerness to help is one of the things I love best about the online sewing community.
OK, so since I am going to travel with my hexies and my needlebook etc. I decided I needed a little zip pouch to drop in my bag.
Well this one turned out rather large ( 8" x 8") but that's OK- plenty of room for all kinds of things. : )
I picked up a half yard of these typewriters the other week and they are fun but on the bigger side. They are 6" fussy cut.
Don't you think the Hope Valley and new Aunt Edna orange dot look great with it? They just go together happily.
Of course I had to add some aqua- everything needs a little aqua.
OK-off to print some hexie templates, order some hexies already cut out and work on this WIP.
Hope you're gathering ideas for the Modern Mini Challenge! The blog hop fun begins on Monday! Entries are due March 5!
xo,
Jennifer
PS: Is my new font size too big?

Great Pouch!!
Cute cute pouch! I was at Joann's yesterday. My Joann's doesn't have that orange Aunt Edna print. Insert sad face here...
where did you find the typewriters? i'm seeing them all over blogland and i think i need some now.
your pouch is darling! 8 by 8 will be great, especially since it won't get so lost if you carry a big bag and it'll be useful even after your hexie project is done. :)
Heck you don't mess about do you! I am still keeping mine in a plastic bag!!!...now you have made me feel guilty and will have to make something LOL. I don't think it's too big, when you have sewn your hexies together it will be big enough to put them in too!!
You know, yesterday's comments were helpful to me too! I love the look of hexies but haven't tried them yet. Maybe I'll get to it later in the year! Your pouch turned out great. And whatever that WIP is, I can't wait to see it!
I like your pouch - you always need "just a little more" space :)
And no, your new font size is not too big, it's perfect!
Cute pouch! I really like the font size...
Oh, I am so jealous of your pouch. I ordered a 1/4 yard of the typewriter online & got 2 partial rows of them, not one complete typewriter, ugh! Good luck on the hexies, I was going to chime in on making them, but I think everything was covered by the time I got over here : )
Is your font size too big? Let me put on my 2.5 strength readers and check, nope... it is perfect for this 40 something, quickly losing my vision, squinty eyed blog reader.

Font looks fine to me, and the purse is absolutely perfect!!
Don't you have a go - the hexie die is always on my 'list of 3 I'd choose'!!
What a cute pouch! No the font size isn't too big. I like those solids. Can't wait to see how you put them together.
I love your new pouch! Since I've only made a few hexies myself, I didn't feel qualified to give you advice on that! But I can't to see where your hexagon adventure leads you!
Love your zippy!
Love the pouch! I love the MM typewriters.
Awesome pouch! Love the typewriters and the fabrics you chose to finish it! Looks great!
Love that pouch and those typewriters! I also have a half yard of them, but haven't been able to bring myself to cut into them yet...
So darned cute!!! Love that pouch! And all those solids are just yummy!
Pouch is so cute! I've hunted all over for the Ruby Star Shining Typewriter print-everyone is out BUT the gals at Fabricworm expect some more in in about 5 weeks and they are going to let me know when it gets there. And no, your font isn't too big.
Love the typewriter and the pouch! Adorable. Your font is easy on the eye.
There is hardly any fabric I like more than dots unless it is ORANGE with dots. Your pouch is lovely and I really like the whimsy of the typewriter print. Lavender is another weakness I have and I marvel at how well you matched the colors of typewriter to border. I like the font size.
Love your zip pouch, it's a great combination of fabrics.
No your font is not too large, it's perfect!!!!!!
The zip pouch is gorgeous!! Love that typewriter :)
Fantastic colours!
What a fun pouch. I've been just looking and admiring my typewriter fabric so far, I think it's time to cut into it and make something fantastic, just like your pouch looks so amazing.
Cute, cute, cute pouch! I need to get some of that Aunt Edna before it disappears. Font looks great!
Love that pouch!
So CUTE! I'm in love with that Aunt Edna dot. Such a good print! Someday, I"m going to wish I'd bought a ton of it.
Cute zip pouch, I would have to put a little loop on it so I could slip it on my wrist or clip it to my purse.
I started my hexi project last week, I carry my needles, bobbins of thread, templates, fabric in a small clear zipper pouch. Works perfect for on the go, and I can throw my reading glasses and snips in it and then pouch in my purse and away we go.
I have a Cricut Expressions and I cut my hexis out on craft cardstock, works perfect and I already had the paper so it was cheap.
how did i miss this!?? super adorable pouch jen! and i have no advice at all on hexies, never tried one... gasp! i know!
I love your hexies to go pouch! What a cute idea. I just cart mine around in a ziplock, but they will have to change.
