I've just gotten the best mail! Emily from Strawberry Patch Ramblings sent me the most fabulous zippy pouch with teeny tiny hexies to boot. Isn't it adorable?
It came all the way from Devon, UK and I am so happy it is mine. It's from the Mouthy Stitches swap on Flickr.
I just love the rainbow colors, the linen, the hand stitching, the fussy cuts.... I could go on and on.
This was my second swap, and I would say it was a big success!
Look too at the fabulous fabric she sent along too. That blue floral is LIBERTY from the actual Liberty of London shop!
It's my first piece of Liberty and wow- it is amazingly soft. I am going to treasure this for sure!
I certainly hope my partner is as happy with the zippy pouch I sent her as I am with mine. I don't think she's gotten hers yet but finger's crossed she loves it. This is what I sent her:
She is fond of red and blue and birds so I think I made her something she'll like. At least I hope so!
I must admit I did not read the mailing directions carefully enough before I shipped it ,and I sent it regular mail rather than air mail. Hopefully it will get there in a timely fashion! Note to self- read all directions first!!
So this successful swap has me thinking that I will definitely be signing up for more. What about you? Do you like to swap?
xo,
Jennifer

Oh you lucky thing, I had my eye on that one!
Swapping has been a delightful experience for me. It is always a bit of a gamble, but for the most part I have had wonderful partners.
Beautiful! Beautiful!
I LOVE swaps! I have at least one a month.. and I am always so happy and excited when I get something in the mail.. sometimes I have so many swaps in one month that when I receive a package I have no clue who could send it ahah ;p i love the pouch you made for your swap partner - great idea..! and the one you have received.. amazing! little hexies are super cute!! :D
Ahh, you were the lucky recipient of this one, love it! And I love how you've fussy cut the bird for the dresden on your one being sent too :o)
I enjoy swaps for the excitement of trying to work out the perfect thing for someone and seeing if they like it, I often forget there's something coming back!
I'm in this swap too.... And it is my first swap, but I will certainly be doing more. I like the way it made me plan what to make and get on and do it.
i do love to swap but i am about swapped out! i have a LLOOONNGG list! i doubt it will ever get shorter, i do love a good swap!
I totally agree with Katy, I always forget there is something coming my way until it's time for sending the parcel.
Both pouches are awesome! I've been very lucky in flickr swaps, both in giving and receiving. I prefer a one-on-one swap, though, because it's more personal.
That's such a fantastic pouch, how lucky! There's been a few of us eyeing it up! LOVE a good swap, and this one has been great, to the point I almost forgot I would get one back, and have found it the hardest swap to predict which will coming to live here :)
Oh, these are so great! I love a good swap, and try to balance online ones with the ones for my guild -it's all about connecting with others! It feels good to make something for someone who knows what went into it and will appreciate that effort or special bit of fabric.
What fun treasures! I just joined my first swap so we'll see how it goes! I'm a little nervous, but it should be fun! :)
Awesome pouches!!
Ohhhhh super cute, how exciting to get such a beautiful pkg. in the mail. And the little pouch you made is absolutely ADORABLE!! Who wouldn't want to receive that?
Wow, that is a really great pouch! I've done a swap before and was burned, it was awful. It's taken me several years to want to try swapping again, but I'm ready!
Like some of the others have said I forget I'll be getting a pouch until I've sent mine and then I think - 'oh yeah I'll be getting one.' I've done a tonne of swaps and for the most part been really really lucky with what I've got and my partners. However, I've also had partners that don't play the game and that kind of makes swapping suck.
OH...serious pouch envy. I love the one you received, but I am drooling over the one you sent! I love birds, my fave is red, white & blue
So happy you are happy!
I don't even know how non-airmail travels - boat, I assume - I don't have to ask for Airmail, as it's a given, so you may have got lucky x
love,love.Yes, is adorable!
It's beautiful. The one you received and the one you are sending. I'd be happy to receive that one!
Lucky you and your partner. Both pouches are gorgeous! I love to swap, but after really going overboard in the last year and a half with over 20 swaps, I've decided to slow down and finish some UFO's and make a few larger quilts. I can rarely turn down the request of a private little swap with a friend, though, so once in a while I make an exception! Have fun!
Lucky partners on both sides of the pond.
Emily is very talented! Love the pouch she made, the hexies are so cute!
The one you made is wonderful too, cute little birds!
Oooh, I love that you got this one, its so cute! Plus I sent Emily the red owl fabric, its nice to see it stateside!
Loved this pouch, Emily did a fab job with it!!
Have you sent yours to me yet? ;-)
Emily did a great job and I hope your pouch arrives soon! I`m swearing off swaps for a bit - too stressful waiting for fabric to arrive so that`s me swapped out for a bit!
I love swaps! Jusr sent out three more packages this morning! And stalking the mailman for an overseas shipoment due here any day now!!
Lucky you, that's a fabulous pouch. I love the one you made too.
It's wonderful - you lucky thing!
Oh I am blushing now, what sweet things you said Jennifer and all your lovely comments make me warm inside. I loved making it for you!
jennifer - BOTH of the pouches are so adorable and sweet with their hand stitching. love them. also - i thought your post on how to do a fabric swap was great....if you have consider doing a "how to get involved in swaps (pouch/pillow/etc)" post, i would love it! i have just really gotten in to flickr and swapping sounds SO FUN.
