My favorite part of the weekend was definitely meeting all of my online buddies in person and making some new friends along the way.
So much crammed into one little weekend- where to begin?
Here goes....
We stayed at the beautiful and luxurious (but affordable) Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City. Super large, fancy room, all to myself. LOVED the giant, super clean tub-
and had a Pretty Woman moment with bubbles and my iPod before the reception on Friday night.
Look at this room!
The reception kicked things off and it only took about a minute to find some friendly faces in the crowd.

The Old Red Barn Dinner Friday night was so much fun- a lot of laughing, chatting and sewing talk.

A BIG thank you to Dana for putting that together and for the lovely gifts.
Saturday kicked off the classes:
Blogging and Social Media with Dana Bolyard (Old Red Barn Co.)
Free Motion Quilting with Allison Harris (Cluck Cluck Sew)
Quilting 101 with Amy Smart (Diary of a Quilter)
Applique with Natalia Bonner (Piece -N- Quilt)
Followed by these on Sunday:
Aspiring Author Panel with Jenny Wilding-Cardon, Bari Ackerman, Amy Ellis, Gretchen Hirsch, & Ali Winston
Improv Piecing with Jessica Berrett (Urban Patchwork)
The Social Media class was great as was the Free Motion Quilting one. More details on that later.

I really loved the improv piecing class where Jess taught us how to piece curves - a new technique for me - and I totally "got" her style. It absolutely speaks to me. I've got several sketches and projects in the works that are along the lines of her style of quilting.
I also found the author panel to be one of the most informative classes for me. One of my goals is to write a book so this was definitely a great class to attend.
I'll admit to being a little star struck at meeting the teachers- a few of whom knew who I was- which was CRAZY!

Saturday night Elena and I had arranged a group for dinner. We asked about 10 blogging friends to come and many of them in turn brought a friend or roommate.
It made for a fun group, and I felt so honored to get to hang out with some super talented ladies.

On a total whim, almost last minute, Elena and I decided to see if we could get some goodies together for swag bags, and we were completely blown away by the generosity of the sponsors. I mean, seriously had no idea we would get such a good response. We called several people/companies on the off chance that a few would say yes and low and behold, they almost all did. It was staggering.
The good news is that we have a few extra goodies to share so there will be a special giveaway for you guys very soon!
The swag bags from the Sewing Summit were awesome and filled with wonderful goodies and treats: batting, chocolates (that lasted all of five minutes-yum!) charm packs, thread, labels, a fabric glue stick and patterns- oh my!
All weekend long, gifts and giveaways were flying. I won two quilt patterns from Allison at Cluck Cluck Sew and a self sharpening ruler too- can't wait to use it.
There was lots of sewing going on in the evenings, fabric swaps (thanks Kati and Kaelin) and special gatherings to learn new techniques like zip pouches (thanks Claudia) or frame purses (thanks Michelle!) Hopefully it all sank in because by the end of the day I was too tired to sew!
I was part of a Super Secret Sewing Summit Bee, and we surprised Erin and Amy with Sewing Summit quilts on Sunday morning.
They turned out awesome, especially with Chris's fabulous quilting.

But I'm not worried- we're bloggers- staying connected is what we do.
