What 'Cha Making Mommy? (and Day 7 of the 12 Gifts of Christmas)

"What are you sewing Mommy?"

Me: "A quilt."

(holds up block to show her)

"Who's it for?"

Me: "I'm not sure yet."

(pauses for minute)

"Well you need to finish it. It's got to get a lot bigger."

She's right, you know.

And she keeps me on track. I love how she always asks who it's for. :)

Around here the average 3 year old asks 438 at least!

Today is Day 7 (we're half way through our blog hop) of the 12 Gifts of Christmas Tutorials. Have you gotten some great ideas? I love your WIP! Beautiful. My daughter always tells me I need to make my WIPs bigger too. Ha :)

Off to Lee's to see her tutorial!

What a sweetie you have there. I'll bet you give away most of your projects - therefore, who's it for fits right in. :)
Lee's idea for the Lego bag is great. Not just a bag but a way to keep those little pieces under some kind of control.

Love, love, love the block! You are more than off and running with your improv piecing. Mark my words, you will be teaching at Summit (or some other equally wonderful venue) soon! And I hear you on the 3 yr. old thing...between my two 3 yr. olds and 5 yr. old, I'm constantly explaining the craziest things! (i.e. "Mommy, why is your name Mommy???" - seriously!)

Awesome block, it looks like it took a long time. I have not tried much improv piecing, I did make a quilt back doing it, but it was a much larger scale!

Awesome piecing, Jennifer! I love it, and your daughter's line of questioning, too. ;)

you know what I mean ;o)

Aren`t 3 year olds the best though? Mine always says, `Mummy, is that quilt for me?`...so egocentric but very adorable. Thanks for the tutes Jennifer and love that block!

I look forward to see how this block will end up into a bigger quilt!
Daughters can be the best! My daughter often gives my ideas, which gives just the right touch to the whole.

I guess I'm still a 4 year ok'd in my head, because I think I mentally ask about that many questions a day, too. Thank goodness it's just in my head, though, I think otherwise I'd drive the hubs nuts.

I love what you've done with your wip. The colors and piecing are so dynamic.
