Best gift anyone gave me - a used bicycle my dad found and fixed up and painted for me on Christmas Eve after I changed my mind from the bride doll that he had dressed for me with 13 different hand stitched outfits to fit a Madame Alexander doll. I was the only kid in the neighbor hood to get a used bike, but by noon on Christmas everyone wanted to ride my "special" bike.

When I was a teenager I gave service coupons to my Mom. I like to try to give things that my family have mentioned throughout the year that they would like. in addition, because our children are all grown, married and have families of their own, we give them a check and they tell us what we gave them. My parents and my husband's parents did this and it was a wonderful aid to our Christmas. I really appreciated the money and ability to decide what I would use it for, rather than what they wanted me to have.

I follow Ellison Land Quilts and am excited about the blog hop. Thanks for the placemat tutorial.

The Ipod case from the tut yesterday sounds like a winner. I loved the colors that were used.

Penny's tut on the bottle cap trivet is great. Very neat idea. I'll call the craft store tomorrow and see if they sell them - so I don't have to drink myself silly over a trivet. Ooops, guess I should look for nonalcoholic. :)
