I learned how to paper piece this week at our Charlotte Modern Quilt Guild meeting (thanks for the tips Gail!)
Now I just need an Add a Quarter ruler, and I'm ready to go!
Paper piecing totally inspires me- there is some AMAZING paper piecing talent out there...hello Ringo Pie Bee!
I WILL be able to do that too. :) Give me some time- it WILL happen!
Enjoy and be inspired!
Inspired yet?

Very inspired! Thanks for sharing. :) Such happy blocks/projects. Love the mixer.. and well, all of them! So great.
I guess I'm showing my ignorance here, but WOW! I had no idea you could do that kind of thing with paper piecing! Totally inspired, thanks for sharing!
My favourite is the pencil block for Ayumi!
I am completely in awe of all those!
Oh that looks awesome. May have to repin some of these!
I would love to try this some time. I saw Verrykerryberry's on Lily Quilts a few weeks ago...so cute!
Love the quilts you've pinned. Especially the Kitchenaid mixer. I would love to do one of those to hang in my kitchen. I bought an addd a quarter ruler a couple of years ago for a class where we made a tuffet. It was very handy, and tho' I haven't used it for anything else yet, I like having it in my tool belt.
I have that 1/4" ruler sitting unused, I'll pass it along to you at the next meeting to try out. I am much better at improv piecing, not being the technical, measuring, planning sort of person in any aspect of life!
Glad I'm not the only one who stalks ringo pie bee!
Yes I am very inspired! Now I just have to learn to paper piece :) thanks for sharing
So, I'm looking at those rulers, and I don't see a difference. Please explain! I want to learn paper piecing, too. :) Maybe we should do a block swap or mini bee so we can get motivated!
Completely inspired! Those are all so fabulous. I am cutting fabric today for a huge PP project. Tula Pink's Crown Jewels quilt in Prince Charming. Wish me luck!
wow, how neat! I've dabbled a wee bit, but just skimmed the surface. these blocks are fantastic!
Jennifer, I love them! Wow! Where do I get these patterns?
Hi Jennifer! I have never used the add a quarter ruler although a friend of mine has and I believe it was helpful to her. I paper piece a bit differently. I print my pattern on to the paper side of freezer paper. Cut out the pieces. Iron them onto my fabric and cut 1/4 inch around all of my pieces. Then I piece them together. This assures you have the right size pieces and less waste :) Here's a link to a post I did not too long ago on drafting your own pp pattern! http://whynotsew.blogspot.com/2011/04/drafting-your-own-paper-pieced-pattern.html
I'll be posting a tutorial on the mixer soon!
I have been loving that flickr group as well! Those blocks are so adorable!
What talent. I hope that someday I can make blocks like this (: Gorgeous.
WOW!!! All absolutely gorgeous. I'm dying for a KitchenAid Mixer block to hang in the kitchen. Love it.
That's a whole lotta of wonderfulness that you compiled!
That popsicle block of Ayumi's is one of my favorites ever!! Thanks for the cute and inspirational pics.
These are incredible! I have some pinning to do :)
Love the paper piecing. I'm in a class this week for just that! Can't wait to learn. Forgot I needed a add-a-quarter ruler. Thanks for indirectly reminding me. I'll check back for more inspiration and fun!
I love paper piecing and those are very inspired.
