Fabric Swap + Surprise = Happy Mail Day!

I think I've mentioned before how much I enjoy getting the mail. Just the possibility of something fun and unexpected makes me enjoy the walk to the mailbox.

I'm forever hopeful there will be something good inside waiting for me.

Most of the time all we get are bills, pizza flyers and a couple catalogs and magazines (Parents, House Beautiful, Boden.) But sometimes there are super happy surprises in the mail.

Yesterday was a fabulous mail day!

Not only did I receive two more fabric charm stacks for the Rainbow Charms Fabric Swap from Christine and Duff, but they both sent treats for me as well!

I was SO surprised when I opened their packages and just overwhelmed with their thoughtfulness. I mean seriously- I can't believe they sent me something!

In addition to their fabulous fabric picks for the swap, you have to see what they included- so cute.

Christine, from Punkin Handmades sent me this beautiful mug rug. I've made a few mug rugs but have given them all away so I am thrilled to have one of my own, especially one so pretty!

I saw this on her blog the other day and had NO idea it was for me.

Don't you love the kaleidoscope of colors? The grey polka-dot back is perfect for me too.

And how cute is the little zip pouch she made? Adorable! I can't wait to use it. I will finally be able to find my lipgloss in the depths of my mommy bag!

With a smile still on my face I opened the package from Duff. Duff has an awesome sense of humor btw. For instance, the tape on her package, had hot dogs on it. Funny!

So Duff sent this fabulous yellow fabric and carefully wrapped in the selvege was this matchbook of nail files.

Super cute- so cute that I can't possibly use them. Instead they are smiling happily at me from my sewing room bookshelf where I can see them all the time and admire their funkiness. ♥ them.

Thanks Girls!!!

Are sewists and quilters the best or what? How very generous and thoughtful and what super great surprises.

Definitely a stellar mail day!

PS: I hope no one reading this feels they need to send me something too. I just wanted to shout out a big thanks to Christine and Duff!

What fun!! Lucky you. I purchased my [orange] fabric for the swap yesterday and will iron and cut it probably tomorrow (very busy day today). Now I have to figure out what kind of hostess gift to include with it!! Those are tough acts to follow!! But I think I have an idea... Very excited about the charm swap!!
