Ta-da! My first solids quilt.
I must say that I love it. The gray sashing makes the colors pop and the pieced border frames the wonky log cabins just right.
When I started this quilt, I had no set pattern in mind. I loved the Bella Solids from Rachel but wanted a wider range of colors so I added some Kona solids as well.
I had planned on making a larger quilt but after making 4 blocks, I liked it so much I wanted to get it finished. So I sashed it and pieced a border and that was that.
Don't you love the back? I think it would be a great quilt on its own.
Not having a plan was liberating. You should give it a try.
This one is going to my sweet boy. It's going to be a fun quilt for him to play on.
